Insurance

The Mental Health Association of MN speaks with many individuals who lack health insurance or have very limited coverage.   It is not unusual for a number of these callers to be eligible for a Minnesota Health Care Program.  The advocate will provide the caller the contact information of the county office that oversees the program for the county in which the party resides.  If a party is covered by insurance, but a dispute has arisen as to what is covered, advocates may be able to assist the party in dealing with the insurance company.  Many individuals will prefer to do this on their own, but the individual may look to an advocate for ideas on how they can best support their case with the insurance company.
