Information and Support Resources
When people need to access treatment, services and resources in the mental health system, it is usually very confusing and it often feels overwhelming to the person with a mental illness or their family and friends. We provide information about mental illnesses and resources in the community.
Fact Sheets on Mental Illnesses
The National Institute of Mental Health publishes information on symptoms of and treatments for the most common mental illnesses.
Online Screening for Mood and Anxiety Disorders
This free screening is made available to everyone visiting our website and is taken anonymously. The screening tool is provided so that you may find out (in a few minutes) whether or not professional consultation would be helpful to you. A screening test is not a substitute for a complete evaluation but it can help you learn if your symptoms are consistent with depression, bipolar disorder, an anxiety disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder and how to access help. This program is designed for individuals aged 17 and above. The online screening is completely anonymous. We do not collect any unique identifying information such as name, email address or IP address. The Mental Health Association of Minnesota cannot view your individual results.
