The most common question regarding housing is, “Where can I find affordable housing?”.  This is a very challenging question, but there are possibilities that can be addressed.  Some callers need help in filling out a form to apply for or to be recertified for public housing.  An advocate will help the party out if there is no one else able to do so.  Other times, a contacting party will have a problem with a neighbor or an apartment owner or caretaker.  If the party wishes, the advocate will contact a person or agency that may be able to bring resolution to the problem.  In some cases, the advocate will refer the party to a legal aid office that may be able to offer short-term legal assistance to meet the individual’s needs.
