Individual Advocacy Program

People with mental illnesses, their families and friends, and any interested individuals can contact MHAM when they are facing barriers or searching for resources in meeting their needs. We provide information and tools needed to access community resources, maintain civil rights, and/or manage the illness.

Advocates can work with individuals on a variety of issues and our services are free of charge. Some examples of those issues are:

Advocates may assist in providing information on mental illnesses and ideas on ways to support the individual. Educational materials can be mailed at a person's request.
