The Mental Health Association of Minnesota drives its mission to improve the lives of people with mental illness by providing a wealth of information on mental health topics, activities, legislation and happenings.
Additionaly we provide advocacy support, on-site presentations, newsletters and other resources to deliver useful information to interested parties and those in need of support.
Mental Health Education
Mental health education is one of MHAM's primary initiatives.
Within the education division of our organization you can find the following:
- The Outreach Program: An outreach and educational service program established to inform audiences of all ages about mental health topics, disorders and treatment.
- Outreach Activities: Our focus areas incude the workplace, frontline providers, and higher education.
- Mental Health Topics: An extensive list of resources by the National Institute of Mental Health highlight specific disorders and treatments.
- Presentations: Request on-site presentations from MHAM.
- Health Fairs and Events: Request MHAM to attend your health fair or event.
- Publications: Request publications by e-mail or mail from MHAM.
- Calendar of Events: Events that are occurring throughout Minnesota.
- Clinical Trial Resources: Clinical trial resources occuring nationally and within the state.
Mental Health Advocacy
MHAM's Mental Health Advocacy Program is comprised of two categories: Individual Advocacy and Issues Advocacy.
- The Individual Advocacy Program seeks to teach individuals with mental illnesses self-advocacy skills to access services and overcome barriers.
- The Issues Advocacy Program is an extensive set of resources which address the activities of state and federal governemnt.
